Athletics Purpose

The athletic department at Brookstone is student-centered and an integral part of the student's total educational experience. The program is designed to provide positive learning opportunities for each student who participates. Students benefit from the development of physical fitness,leadership, teamwork, social skills, self-discipline, and integrity. Decision-making skills, good citizenship, good sportsmanship, and the promotion of individual maturity should also result from athletic participation. These characteristics assist in the development of individual and team attitudes that are beneficial for a success in athletics and in future life.

A well-rounded program of interscholastic athletics is provided for all students. Opportunities for participation vary according to the sport and level of competition. Middle school and Upper School students can take advantage of over thirty competitive teams in 11 sports. Claiming numerous region and state championships, Brookstone's athletic program strives for excellence and "Cougar Pride."

Brookstone's athletic facilities are among the finest in the state and includes a stadium, two gymnasiums, baseball and softball fields, tennis courts, a 400-meter track, two soccer fields, and a fitness center. Our excellent staff of coaches and volunteers encourage our athletes to perform to the best of their abilities on the field and in the classroom. The Brookstone Athletic Program is truly committed to the development of the whole person.
