Construction Notice- Tuesday, January 9, a major foundation pour for the new Upper School building will take place. The Kirven Building Drop-off will be closed from 6:45 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Everyone will need to be extra careful with all the concrete trucks coming in and out of the graveled construction entrance to the work site.

Headmaster's Forum- Wednesday, January 11, 12 noon. Parents are invited to join Scott Wilson in the Turner Center Gallery for an open forum. A light lunch will be provided.

Upper School Open House -
Thursday, January 12, 7:00 p.m., Turner Center.
All 8th grade students and their parents are encouraged to attend.  We have an exciting and informative program for you! Please RSVP to or 324-1392

College Representative - Monday, January 23, 7:00 p.m., Turner Center.
Dean Daniel Walls, Emory University, will discuss different aspects of the admissions process from the university perspective. Junior students and their parents are strongly urged to attend.  All other students and parents are welcome!  For more information contact Cindy Sparks at 324-1392.

Academic Team - Congratulations on recent competitions!

Upper School Academic Team - Seventeen students met in Mrs. Tomblin's room after school to compete in the Knowledge Master Open, a software-generated national competition.  Brookstone scored fifth in Georgia, behind the much larger Atlanta area schools.
A group of competitors consisting of Zach Bishop, Rachel Brent, Samuel Coffin, Carmen Lee, and Kelsey Tomblin competed in the Henry County Invitational Tournament in December.  This team made it to the semifinal round among 50 schools before yielding to Dorman, a large and highly competitive school from South Carolina. 

Middle School Academic Team -
The Middle School Academic Team excelled at the competition held Saturday, January 7th. They were one of two teams selected to advance to the State Academic Competition. 

Spaghetti Supper and Bingo Night! -  Thursday, January 26
We need your help to make Bingo a success!!  The Bingo committee would like to ask for your help in donating promotional items, office supplies, tote bags, toys, games or any items you feel would make a nice prize.  There will be donation boxes set up in the middle and lower school offices.  If you need further information, please contact Tina Gantt at 576-4669 or 

A Heart for Service - A School-wide Service Day is scheduled for the afternoon of February 3rd. Students will be involved in an area of service, many with Fox Elementary School. If you would like to be a part of this exciting activity please contact Kim Jarrell - 494-6925.

Guest Speaker - Monday, February 6, 7:00 p.m., Turner Center
Dan Kindlon, Ph.D., award winning author and psychologist will speak to parents regarding his most recent book, Too Much of a Good Thing - Raising Children of Character in an Indulgent Age. Dr. Kindlon will also be speaking at the Upper School and Middle School assemblies on Tuesday, February 7.
Box Tops - Turn In - January 19th
Great results from the last turn in - please keep those Box Tops coming. Send in your neatly trimmed box tops, empty printer cartridges and old cell phones!
