A Heart for Service

The highlight of this year's focus on service will occur on Friday, February 3. On this day every student at Brookstone will have an opportunity to give of themselves through various activities.

Lower School - The lower school will remain on campus and learn what it means to have a "heart for service" through interactive activities followed by each class completing a service project. All of the lower school students will make placemats, cards, and will decorate bags to be filled with food by Open Door.  All of the items will be presented to Open Door to be used in their homeless program.

Middle School and Upper School -

5th Grade - will be staying on campus and making sandwiches and prepared meals that will be delivered to Open Door's Kids Cafe and Homeless Showering Program.

6th Grade - will be hosting senior citizens to a Tea at Brookstone and performing along with them in a fun filled Karaoke session.

7th Grade - 10th Grade will be transported to Fox Elementary where they will coordinate a carnival for Fox Elementary students that will include relay games, science magic, midway games and "rides".

11th Grade - will be transported to the Columbus Dream Center located next to Fox Elementary where they will assemble food for the bi-monthly food distribution program for over 200 families, sort and tag clothes for the Dream Center Thrift Shop, as well as participate in the Adopt-A-Block program where they will provide community service to approximately 30 families.

12th grade - will work along with Trees Columbus to plant 60 trees in the East Wyntonn neighborhood as well as cleaning out the nearby creek.

Students leaving campus (with the exception of seniors) will be transported to and from Fox Elementary via CSU buses and Brookstone buses.
