Country Fair - Brookstones Got Talent - Information

BROOKSTONES GOT TALENT 2014 Guidelines

General Information

All groups that are using recordings for their performance should have the music on an electronic device such as a phone or an iPod. No CD's will be accepted! Please refer to individual categories for other specific rules concerning music.

Performance Categories

Vocal: A maximum of two people will be allowed to perform together in this category. The recordings used in this category must be of the Karaoke type in which all lead vocals have been removed.

Dance: A maximum of four people will be allowed to perform together in this category.

Instrumental: There is no maximum numbers of performers for this category. If using accompaniment music, all lead parts must be removed.

Miscellaneous: There is no maximum number of performers for this category. This category includes any talent that has not been addressed above; Including, magicians, jugglers, puppeteers, performance artists, spoken word, poetry readings and more…

ONLY 40 ENTRIES WILL BE ALLOWED FOR AUDITIONS. REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE AFTER THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ENTRIES HAS BEEN REACHED. ENTRIES WHO DO NOT MAKE THE INITIAL CUT-OFF WILL BE PLACED ON A WAITING LIST.

Age Classifications

There will be two divisions in Brookstone's Got Talent this year. The top five scoring entries from each division will advance to the finals. There will be one winner crowned in each category and one overall act that will be crowned the overall champion. All finalists will receive participation certificates. The winners of each division will receive trophies. The highest scoring entry will receive a trophy and $100 cash. The two divisions are:

Blue Division: Grades Pre-K through 2nd grade

White Division: 3rd grade through 5th grade

Auditions

A panel of three Brookstone teachers will judge the auditions. The auditions will be held on Wednesday, March 26th. Auditions will begin at 3:30 and will be held in the Turner Center. DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS, EACH GROUP WILL ONLY HAVE TWO MINUTES TO PERFORM THEIR AUDITION. Entries should wear their performance costumes and bring any props they intend on using for their performance. Please be prepared to wait as long as two hours for auditions to finish. Finalists will be notified via the parent's Brookstone school email on Thursday, March 27th.

Show Rehearsals

Wednesday, April 9th: All finalists in the Blue Division will meet in the band room at 3:30 for a technical rehearsal

Wednesday, April 16th: All finalists in the White Division will meet in the band room at 3:30 for a technical rehearsal

Wednesday, April 23rd: All finalists will meet in the band room at 3:30 for a dress rehearsal

Show Date Friday, April 25th, 3:30 PM

Registrations

Only online registrations will be accepted. Registration will open Monday, March 10th. Registration will close on Friday, March 21st, or when the maximum number of forty entries has been reached. An audition roster will be sent to the parents Brookstone school email address on Monday, March 24th, or sooner if registration closes earlier.
